Special schools!

I’m a firm believer in having a system that looks after the health and education of its tax paying residents and citizens. Having seen how healthcare works in the USA, I was not holding out much hope of being looked after by the school system now that Jaden is 3 years old.

At the age of 3 in the state of North Carolina, all children who are classed as special needs ‘qualify’ to enter the school system. What type of special needs teaching they receive depends on how the county education authority assesses them.

Jaden has been assessed by the Wake county school system and will start at Weatherstone Elementary school next Friday full time.

Ever since we started the process, the care and treatment we have received by the school system, the school and everyone we have encountered has been first class. Unlike some local government departments, we have not been frustrated by bureaucrat red tape or had to make numerous phone calls chasing information.

Taking Jaden to school next Friday is going to be hard enough, at least we can try and relax safe in the knowledge that our beautiful little girl is being looked after by a very professional and caring organization.

    Andy,

Feel secure that Jaden will be taken great care of while at school. Individuals who teach early childhood special education do it because they truly care about children with special needs. Jaden will be so loved and taken well care of that she will light up when you say school. I feel confident in my opinion about special education teachers…I’m one of them!
