I Know Who’s Who, But Who’s Pablo?
If you’ve read my blogs, you know how much I love to point out email marketing blunders. This email (View You Have Been Selected) I received from Madison Who’s Who on January 2nd is a perfect example.
When I was in high school, having my picture in Who’s Who felt like a big deal. But of course I grew up in a small rural town where being included in any national publication — whether it was Who’s Who or USA Today — was 15 seconds of fame. But participating in Who’s Who as a 30-something-year-old executive seems a lot like….well, high school. And receiving a personal invitation addressed to “Pablo” doesn’t exactly inspire me to act on the message’s call to action.

Perhaps Who’s Who should realize the we’ve all graduated to LinkedIn.
